Renovated with a vision of perfection.
Acquired in August of 2007 by local investors, the Kensington Riverside Inn came under the management of Mark Wilson and his team at the Hotel Arts Group. With a vision of the perfect stay, the Inn underwent extensive renovations, adding an upscale restaurant, Chef’s Table, and lounge. The second phase, commencing in early 2012, will align guest rooms and the building’s exterior with opulent, modern luxury for the best offering in Calgary executive accommodations.
Modern grace and personal luxury—by design.
Kensington Riverside Inn’s architectural design imparts upscale residential charm that is gracious and inviting, while its modern décor pursues the perfect stay. The intimate atmosphere of the Inn’s original design by award-winning architect Richard Lindseth is complimented by the opulent and modern details of Andrea Raimondi from Ingenium Design Group.
Some of these details include:
- A wall of interlocking coil drapery that greets your entrance.
- Morosini lighting that compliments the comfort of dark Italian leather chairs.
- Contemporary paintings and sculptures that impart an atmosphere of sophistication and luxury.
- An intimate, 30-seat lounge with cream-white, Poltrona Frau Italian leather chairs, and a stunning purple Bisazza glass-tiled feature wall.
- A large fireplace and beautiful mantelpiece that sets off the rich estate-grey walls.
A distinctive glass-railed stairway, illuminated with recessed floor lights.
For the latest phase of renovations, what started as a design palette and some drawings almost 2 years ago has finally culminated in the completion of our 19 beautifully redesigned guest rooms. The vision for the rooms was that of luxury and opulence, while remaining true to the original comfort and warmth of the Inn—already well known by its many regular guests. Gauging from the reviews so far, we have succeeded! The rooms are warm and inviting, with features including contemporary but comfortable furnishings, impressive beds, efficient and accessible work stations, deep soaker tubs and rain showerheads, as well as all of our standard luxury amenities.
From warmth to wine, enjoy the award-winning cuisine of Chef's Table.
Chef’s Table, a 40-seat upscale restaurant at Kensington Riverside Inn, is renowned for its elegant cuisine and atmosphere.
The dining room features an open kitchen design where guests can witness the talents of Chef de Cuisine Chris Barton and his team. Under the direction of award-winning Corporate Chef Duncan Ly, their passion for food is contageous and one can't help but get caught up in their excitement. A sumptuous, warm décor—with dark brown, Italian leather Poltrona Frau chairs, white Frette linen tablecloths, contemporary art, and rich estate-grey walls trimmed with elegance—invites diners to relax and enjoy.
A culinary experience to remember, Chef’s Table’s patrons can enjoy five-course tasting menus, weekday Prix Fixe and a la carte menus, or our Fireside Lounge and Patio menu. Wine selections specialize in smaller eclectic producers that pair up brilliantly with Chef selections.
Whether you’re staying with us at the Inn, or simply dropping by, Chef’s Table pursues luxury in service and detail for the perfect stay.
